Meet Daniela, M. A. Education
Daniela is a seasoned Pilates instructor based in Oceanside, CA. As a former dancer, she regularly used Pilates as a cross training to help her become stronger and to control her flexibility. The discipline, flow, and lengthened movement from the body’s center in a Pilates class reminded Daniela of the feeling of good quality dance movement, and the results showed up right away on her body with lean, muscle tone and elongated posture. She was hooked! She pursued a comprehensive certification in Pilates with Diane Diefenderfer of Studio du Corps in 2012. The work emphasized the Ron Fletcher method, who studied directly under Joseph and Clara Pilates.
She holds a second comprehensive certification from Pukka Pilates and Physical Therapy, a studio focused on using the original classical exercises as developed by Joseph Pilates himself to progress a student with great curation. Daniela apprenticed with owner Sharon Manzuk, a physical therapist and Pilates master, and honed in on teaching bodies of all backgrounds and capabilities.
Most recently, Daniela holds a Pilates for Dancers Certificate, obtained through Karen Clippinger, and is able to give exercises that are biased towards the needs of the dancer.
With a California teacher’s credential and a Masters in Education, Daniela has a toolbox of methods to help learners from every background. She has experience working with all kinds of bodies, from dancers to athletes to postpartum moms to elderly populations. She is passionate about humans finding the beauty and power that reside in their own body, and moving themselves with that spirit.
When she is not involved with Pilates, she keeps busy dancing, cooking homemade Italian meals, and spending time with her husband and four small children.

Specializations
Home school Pilates
Daniela offers mat and reformer Pilates class for children and is a vendor for Pacific Coast Academy and Suncoast Preparatory. She possesses a credential to teach in public schools in the state of California, in addition to a Master’s degree in Education. Parents of children who have done these fun and effective Pilates workouts report that their children focus better, problem solve with more confidence, and sleep more deeply as a result of these classes. Lessons are currently being offered on zoom and in person in North County San Diego.
As a mom of four, Daniela has used Pilates to keep her body strong during her pregnancies and help get her body back in shape after every pregnancy. Daniela finds Pilates the most effective way to tighten up core muscles after they have been stretched out and weakened during pregnancy. In addition, the Pilates principles of fluid motion, breathing, and concentration can help with the mental fog and big emotions that moms may have as they navigate their pregnancies and time after.
Prenatal and Postpartum Pilates
Pilates for Dancers
As a former dancer and current dance teacher, Daniela has an eye for helping dancers maintain correct alignment, posture, and lines of movement. She has worked with numerous dancers and helped them progress, grow stronger, and break incorrect movement patterns. Her exercises for dancers use cutting edge research to methodically scaffold the dancer’s needs and prepare them for classes and performances.
